RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT OFFICE

The Fax Partnership’s mission is to help those that are currently working and living along the East Colfax corridor stay in the community and thrive.

To specifically strengthen and stabilize the low-income renters and homeowners of East Colfax, The Fax launched a Residential Support Office in 2020. The purpose of the Residential Support Office is to connect local residents to services and programs that will help them reduce their housing costs, improve their financial well-being, and ultimately prevent residents from involuntary displacement from the East Colfax community they call home.

LEAP/SNAP/TRUA Application Assistance

We have dedicated time available to help you apply for LEAP, SNAP, and TRUA.

The Fax Residential Support staff speak some of the many languages of our community and work to strategically deliver resources to our community. The Fax’s focus area is the neighborhoods of East Colfax and Hale in Denver and the Northwest Aurora community.

In addition to helping residents obtain services, The Fax also hosts informational town halls and events, such as food drives and vaccine events, at our offices.

Some of the services our Residential Support Office provides are the following:

  • Assistance with applying for the Colorado Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)-a federally funded program that helps eligible hard-working Colorado families, seniors, and individuals pay a portion of their winter home heating costs.
  • Assistance with applying for the Emergency Rental and Mortgage Assistance (ERAP)- help to pay rent due to financial hardship caused by COVID-19 which can include past due, current, and two additional months of expected rent costs.
  • Referral to partners for eviction legal support and financial literacy coaching
  • Referral to partners for housing assistance, housing counseling, and home repairs
  • In-house food pantry and referrals to other pantries serving the East Colfax community

FAX AID

The Fax established the Fax Aid Program to help residents who may need assistance with housing, utility, living expenses, or medical costs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our aid program prioritizes residents along the East Colfax corridor, from Colorado Boulevard to northwest Aurora. Eligible residents will receive grants up to $500. Since the inception of Fax Aid, we have distributed $66,413 worth of grants to 144 unduplicated individuals who live in the East Colfax neighborhood. We hosted three Fax Aid events where we distributed $400 checks, fresh culturally relevant produce, hand sanitizer, face masks, and King Soopers gift cards.

2020 RESIDENTIAL SURVEY RESULTS

To better serve our community The Fax Partnership created and deployed a comprehensive survey in spring 2020 that asked residents about income, housing and service needs, financial literacy, the impact of Covid-19, neighborhood values and concerns. Deploying this survey has given us an in-depth understanding of our East Colfax neighborhood that will inform our work moving forward. To share the survey results with the community and our partners, The Fax created a survey report and interactive tool that we hope will be informative.

Give it a second! GDS may take a quick second to load

The Fax Partnership created this Google Data Studio (GDS) tool to analyze our 2020 Fax Partnership Residential Survey data and to enable community members to learn about and interact with the information collected. The GDS tool does not include all raw data collected in the survey. The Fax Partnership’s GDS, in this case, is a refined tool to allow users to answer critical questions about the data obtained through the survey. Should you have additional questions or concerns we suggest you watch our Demo video below, visit this link or consult our survey report directly.

Enjoy!
